Duels!

Filed under: life, web games — xcaper @ 12:56 am

I always say I want to start a blog and I get all these ideas but the second I sit down to type them I lose them! So I’m sitting here in front of the computer with all kinds of things that I want to say but I have no idea how to say them or what to type as my title. The whole task of blogging feels so daunting yet I want to get in on the action so people will read about me and my experiences. I’ve tried keeping a blog but it seems predictable that one day I will forget to blog and I’ll have something else come up and I’ll never go back to writing on that blog again. I don’t know why that is, but perhaps it’s my spontaneous decisions to do something one day and the next day to do something different.

Some mornings I think there’s a little imp in my clocks at home turning them forward and stopping them to make me think I’m late and then on time. This happened today and I really don’t know how — I usually get up around 8:15 and I’m out the door at 8:40 with poptart in hand but this morning I didn’t get out of the house until almost 8:50 (even though I did nothing different than any other morning). No, just getting me out of the house later doesn’t satisfy the impish imp in my clocks so he decided to stop the time as I was driving and when I was about 5 minutes from work my watch said it was 9:00 so I thought I was good, then he struck again, I didn’t pull into the parking deck until 9:15. I really don’t know how it happens… and it really ticks me off.

Okay, the real reason for this post was to write about this new game that I found online today: Duels. It’s basically a PvP-only World of Warcraft that you can play in your browser. From what I got to play before the site decided I wasn’t giving it correct credentials and kicked me off, it’s a great diversion from a tedious workday. The site’s server is doing some wacky things right now but it was just on TechCrunch so I’m sure it’s getting hit pretty hard.
